SOCIAL-ECONOMIC MANAGEMENT
This program incorporates, liaising with law enforcement to facilitate the rescue of victims of human trafficking, providing psychosocial support to survivors, facilitating the repatriation of survivors, facilitation of emergency medical attention to survivors of modern slavery, and liaising with registered and verified employment agencies to secure jobs for survivors in the formal/ informal sectors.
Often, the issue of mental health continues to be given a back banner. SFT has so far ensured that it has a reliable team of psychologists that closely work together with the survivors of modern-day slavery. Most of the survivors share the horrors they endured while in captivity and psychologists continue playing a vital role in their recovery journey. The horrors recounted by survivors include physical, emotional, and sexual abuse.
Repatriation of survivors (especially for those working abroad) is a painstaking task. Unfortunately, it is a handful of families that can undertake this without help from organizations. SFT has put in place strategies that will go a long way in facilitating the seamless repatriation of survivors. We have established rapport with employment agencies as well as the relevant government ministries whereby we share information with them that may fast-track repatriation. By having the contact information of the key individuals, the cases, and grievances that SFT submits on behalf of the project’s beneficiaries have been given adequate and sound consideration.
