Set Free to Thrive is comprised of Four (4) employees and 8 volunteers making a formidable team, with in-depth knowledge and proven experience in tackling the problem of human trafficking in Kenya.

Lillian Nyangasi is an attorney at law practicing in the Republic of Kenya. A seasoned lawyer and a founding partner of Manasseh and Co. Advocates, Lillian’s expertise in human rights law has seen her rise to among the top league of Kenyan lawyers. She is the Programs Director and coordinator of the Legal Aid program. She has represented victims of human trafficking pro bono in immigration, criminal, and civil cases. She appears regularly before courts all over Kenya, offers legal consultancy, and legal aid to victims and survivors of human trafficking. Her rights-based approach focuses on returning decision-making power to survivors to enable them to rebuild their lives. She considers herself a bridge to justice, through which victims and survivors can access legal redress and bring their perpetrators to account. |

Pauline Shangwira has been an active member of the organization since 2018. As a survivor of labor trafficking from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, she applies her voice and experience selflessly, to deliver tailor-made protection services to survivors of human trafficking.
Her mission is to prevent the re-victimization of survivors and give them hope and the courage to face life’s challenges believing in their immutable ability to achieve their dreams.

Auma Mtafuta has been an active member of the organization since its inception in 2015. She leads the awareness/ education program, which focuses on educating communities about human trafficking. She strongly believes that “knowledge makes individuals unfit to be slaves”, and the ripple effect of education on an individual. She dedicates her time to creating innovative teaching methods and a lasting impact using her previous experience as a teacher.

Antony Aringa is a legal counsel at the forefront of fighting against modern slavery. Aringa is a compassionate and empathetic advocate for victims of modern slavery. He understands the trauma that victims have experienced and works tirelessly to ensure that they are treated with dignity and respect throughout the legal process. His exceptional legal skills and knowledge have made him a valuable asset to our organisation. He has a deep understanding of the complexities involved in modern slavery cases and is committed to ensuring that victims/survivors receive the justice and support they deserve. His expertise has been vital in securing compensation and rehabilitation for victims, as well as holding traffickers accountable for their crimes. Aringa is an invaluable member of our team and a true champion for the rights of modern slavery victims. |
